Big Jess Lock Jaw Rod Holders™-Mounting Instructions

    1.    I suggest pre starting your screws into the rod holder. Place the Lock Jaw Rod Holder against the mounting surface

    2.    Space the holders to your liking and secure using the two included #6 × 3/4” Phillips flat head screws. (Additionally you can add 2 extra screws but not required)

    3.    Tighten until the screw heads sit flush in the recessed holes. (IMPORTANT, DO NOT over tighten the screws or you will crack the plastic)

For easier installation in metal, I suggest drilling small pilot holes.

Mounting Options:

Lock Jaw holders can be mounted horizontally or vertically, making them perfect for rod walls, boat storage, garages, or tackle rooms.

Deckhand Tool Holder – Mounting Instructions

Hardware Used

    •    (2 OR 4) M6 × 1½” Stainless Phillips Pan Head Bolts (OPTIONAL 4 BOLTS FOR A MORE SECURE HOLD)

    •    (2 OR 4) Stainless Washers

    •    (2 OR 4) Nylon Lock Nuts

Through-Bolt Installation (Recommended)

    1.    Choose a Mounting Location

Select a solid surface such as your boat deck, gunwale, console, or wall where the holder will sit flat and allow room for tools and a drink.

    2.    Position the Holder

Hold the tool holder in place and mark the mounting hole locations.

    3.    Drill Holes

Drill holes through the mounting surface sized for an M6 bolt.

    4.    Install Bolts

Insert the M6 × 1½” bolt through the holder and mounting surface.

Due to the snug fit of the holes, the bolt may need to be threaded into the holder, which helps keep the hardware aligned during installation.

    5.    Secure the Hardware

On the backside of the mounting surface:

    •    Place a washer on the bolt

    •    Install the nylon lock nut

    •    Tighten using a Phillips screwdriver and wrench until secure. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN OR YOU RUN THE RISK OF CRACKING THE PLASTIC)

    6.    Final Check

Ensure the holder is firmly mounted and does not move.

Screw Mount Option

The Deckhand Tool Holder can also be mounted using screws directly into wood, plastic, or other solid surfaces if through-bolting is not preferred. Use appropriately sized screws for the surface you are mounting to. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN OR YOU RUN THE RISK OF CRACKING THE PLASTIC)
